Creative Live! Cam Vista IM (VF0260) vs. WINDOWS XP 64bit NOW IS WORKING!!!

    Ok people, check this out!
I've the solution for the webcam Creative Live! Cam Vista IM (VF0260) for your Windows XP 64 bit!!!
Last week I wrote an e-mail to Creative support and I asked them about my problem. The webcam Creative vf0260 doesn't work with Windows XP 64 bit but it's right for Vista and XP 32 bit, so I found a valid solution without buying another camera. Creative support wrote me that there aren't solutions for this O.S. but I'm very HARD, so i found the solution:

1- Download and install a software to extract "setup.exe" archi've files (like Universal extractor).

2- Download Creative Li've! Cam Vista IM (VF0260) "FOR WINDOWS VISTA 64 bit" (this is very important". The file is this: "Creative Live! Cam Vista IM (VF0260) Driver v.1.02"(LCVA_PCDrv_US___02)) and you can download it to: http://it.europe.creative.com/support/downloads/download.asp?MainCategory=28&nRegionFK=&nCountryFK =&nLanguageFK=&sOSName=Windows+Vista+64-bitsion=3&Product_Name=Li've%2+Cam+Vista+IM+%28VF0 260%29&Product_ID=53&modelnumber=&driverlang=033&O S=27&select=0&x=3&y=9

3- Open and extract the archi've LCVA_PCDrv_US___02 with Universal extractor and you'll find 2 folders, (MAINDIR and TEMP). Open MAINDIR and find the file named "CtDrvStp.EXE".
    WELL DONE!!!
AUTOMATIC INSTALL: setup with "CtDrvStp" and follow the instructions.
MANUAL INSTALL, Connect your camera and when Windows XP 64 bit :-))) asks about the drivers, look for "V0260Vid. INF" in the "MAINDIR" folder and follow the instructions.
    Now your camera's working fine.
I hope I've been useful for you.
    ***"sorry for my english"*** :-))

Cam Vista IM (VF0260) Driver v..02" (LCVA_PCDrv_US___02) e li potete trovare qu:
    http://it.europe.creative.com/support/downloads/download.asp?MainCategory=28&nRegionFK=&nCountryFK =&nLanguageFK=&sOSName=Windows+Vista+64-bit'sion=3&Product_Name=Live%2+Cam+Vista+IM+%28VF0 260%29&Product_ID=53&modelnumber=&driverlang=033&O S=27&select=0&x=3&y=9

INSTALLAZIONE MANUALE: Connettete la vostra webcam e procedete all'installazione MANUALE.

Re: Creative Live! Cam Vista IM (VF0260) vs. WINDOWS XP 64bit NOW IS WORKING!!!

I don't believe it. It WORKS! But I had to extract that LCVA_PCDrv_US___02.exe first by using WinRar. After that I unpacked the "setup.exe", located in the extracted directory, by using that universal extractor.

Great! I just wrote a Thread earlier today... I guess its to be closed - your solution is simpler than mine I guess.

Btw: Nice english - as a german computer science student I understood everything

    Molto bene JohnnyScorpion!

Maybe someone can help. I have an ancient Dell Latitude 505 laptop, which I've taken to Jamaica West Indies for the housekeeper of the rental villa I manage. A recent guest brought her a VF0260 that wouldn't work; he suggested to me he thought it needs a driver.
There's no way our housekeeper can manage all the steps in this post. Is there a simpler solution?
    Thanks.
