If I am right the X-fi SB040 is a Soundblaster X-fi Xtreme Audio (no EMU20kx chip). The latest driver for the pci version is the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Pack .04.0079 (2 april 2008); for the pci-e version the latest driver pack is Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Series for PCI Express Pack .03.000 for <strike>Windows XP 32/64 bit and</strike> Windows Vista 32/64 bit (5 may 2008).

?
For the PCI-E version:

For the normal PCI version:? (2 Apr 08).

?

Good luck!

I already get driver XFXA_PCDRV_LB__03_000.exe?
This driver for Win Vista only.

Requirements:
Microsoft? Windows Vista? 64-bit or Windows Vista 32-bit
Creative Sound Blaster audio devices listed above.

Sorry about that, I didn't notice that the pci-e version of the X-fi Xtreme Audio is not supported under Windows XP by Creative Labs anymore.

Maybe you can try out the unofficial SB Audigy Value/SE/LS, Li've! 24-bit, X-Fi Xtreme Audio .04.0080 driver pack by Daniel K. which should support Windows XP as well.

See here: http://danielkawakami.blogspot.com/

Good luck!
