    Re: New driver? SBXF_W7DRVBETA_US_2_18_0008.exe-

    no release notes whatsoever? (changelog?)

I get jittery audio performance after 2-3 days uptime (stuttering that correlates entirely with cpu use by other processes).. is this a known bug, or not?

    Running
    win7 build7000 x64
    XtremeMusic
    790gx-based motherboard (MSI KA790GX)
    4gb kingston VR
    AMD 7750BE

Does CMSS work with this new driver? I don't have win 7 on my computer anymore hehe. Does support 8channel Ditigal out? Just wondering last time it was only 2channel support when I look at it. I can't go back windows 7 I'm going send my Visiontek 2600 Pro AGP 52 card in for replacement since x700pro doesn't support win7Message Edited by robertmc8 on 0-28-2009 03:5 PM@ 97.87.26.25

The reason I posted this thread was if any info was available.
I found these on another forum (don't remember which) late last nite.
I thought there would be a stickey at the top like other new releases.

Yes, CMSS work's with this beta. I don't know if the 7. digital out works ....

    The sound is excellent !

kpo6969, why would you wan't to install over existing drivers ?

Better to uninstall existing drivers first, then install the beta's as this?should avoid any conflicts.

    0Re: New driver? SBXF_W7DRVBETA_US_2_8_0008.exe? ?
Take this how it sounds, but I would really like to know something about this driver. I just installed it and from all I can tell all they did was make the installer recognize Windows 7 so you don't have to run it in compatibility mode, which, I'm sorry, doesn't take very long when the driver already works and installs under Vista. As far as I know, there were no new features to the audio stack in Windows 7. If they ran some Q/A on it, great, but there's no indication anywhere. All I'm asking for here is some feedback about what driver version I'm running, and at this point what OS and CPU bittage the driver currently installed was made for.

That said, I would really enjoy if they incorporated something like Catalyst Control Center's Information Center into the driver package. Knowing what version you're running and what operating system it detected would be nice. I'm not 00% convinced it overwrote the Vista x64 driver I had installed and put in the Windows 7 package, and this is because there is no feedback anywhere in the drivers. (It's also high time they put in a driver uninstaller.)

I've long been hoping Creative would take a long hard look at their driver package and one day announce an overhauled version, and not just for the latest 3 models of sound cards; at the very least for all X-Fi cards. Great hardware, but very, very mediocre drivers, and that's being nice.

Edit: Bug: This might have existed in the Vista driver too, but if you select an EAX effect in the control panel or launcher, then uncheck Enable EAX Effects, the effect persists, you just can no longer c

Edit 2: These drivers seem to be the worst yet in regards to dropped MIDI notes.
