Upgrade to Windows 7 / cant download 2.18.0013 driver

Upgrade to Windows 7 / cant download 2.8.003 driver? I upgraded from XP to Win7. My PC keeps freezing audio and video. I will be able to play audio and/or video and then I won't. The media players will freeze up (WMP, VLC, YouTube in a browser etc.). A reboot will provide a temporary fix.

I think it may be the driver I have for my X-Fi Platinum. I have this SBXF_W7DRVBTA_US_2_8_003.exe file but now I see this is probably better- http://support.creative.com/welcome.aspx?Referer=~/welcome.aspx?Referer=/Downloads/welcome.aspx and eventually bringing me back to the page with the driver once again.

1. Can the new driver fix this problem?
2. How do I get that file. I'm allowing cookies, I'm trying multiple browsers, ugh.
