X-fi Platinum Drivers (+ other X-fi cards) no longer supported/available?

    Hello all,

I was about to do a reinstall on my system (Win7 64bit) so went over to the Creative Support site to download the 'latest' drivers from about 2010 or whatever and discovered to my horror that Creative have determined the X-fi to be at the 'End of Service Life'. Fair enough, it's six years old after all.

I'll just have the drivers then...

    no.

They've removed the drivers. This can't be right surely? Am I looking in the wrong place? There certainly weren't any links to drivers that I could see.

If anyone could shed some light on this I'd be very grateful.
I suppose if Creative really have launched their X-fi drivers into the recycle bin, I don't mind upgrading. But ideally I'd like the LiveDrive and I can't see a suitable replacement?!

    Thanks in advanced.

M-m-m, isn`t http://support.creative.com/download...wnloadId=12101 work? On support site noted that X-Fi Platinum still supported by this one.

    Maybe this helps too: http://support.creative.com/Products...T=CategoryID:1

You have to look at the buttom of the creative support site. There you read: "If your product is not listed above, please click here". Click there and now look under the archived products. Choose your card. Then Click "View: All".

http://support.creative.com/Download...2_18_0015A.exe would be the better kit to use if openal games are likely to be used.
