    Cool P17X Series Support Pack 3.0 (08/20/2014) - AudigySE/Value/LS_Live24-bit_X-FiXtremeAudio_SB5.1VX

This software/driver pack is unofficial, not supported by Creative Labs.
Use it at your own risk.

Supports any model of the following Sound Blaster cards (based on P17X chipset):

    - X-Fi Xtreme Audio
    - Rocketfish 7.1
    - Audigy Value/SE/LS
    - Live! 24-bit
    - Audigy LS
    - Rocketfish 5.1
    - SB 5.1 VX

    Operating systems supported:

    32-bit and 64-bit editions of Windows 8.1 / 8 / 7 SP1 / Vista SP2 / XP SP3

    Included in the pack:

    - Driver for Windows Vista ou superior 5.12.1.2018 WHQL (X-Fi Xtreme Audio) / 5.12.1.2020 WHQL (all other cards)
    - Driver for Windows XP: 5.12.01.627 (Audigy LS, Rocketfish 5.1, SB 5.1 VX) / 5.12.01.626 (all other cards)
    - ALchemy 1.45.01
    - Audio Console 3.01.03
    - Entertainment Console 3.01.03
    - Host OpenAL 2.02.80
    - Volume Panel 2.21.17

Does this driver improve sound quality or performance Are there any tweaks ?

No, this driver does not improve sound quality nor increase performance.

    No, there are no tweaks.

If someone states that its driver improves sound quality and performance, you are being fooled, cheated.

It is even worse that the so called tweaks come from a person who is not EVEN technically acknowledged, does NOT know anything about Windows internals, software engineering and sound fidelity that all audiophiles always look for.

If you "feel" the sound better, that is the infamous placebo effect and there is no real proof that any tweaks work.

In fact, I have yet to see a driver that states in its release notes that it improves sound quality.

I've disassembled about every single .SYS driver, .DLL libraries and .EXE executables and found nothing.

There are some undocumented registry values, but nothing related to sound quality or performance.

Would the so called tweaks even exist, they would be in my Support Packs, you can bet that.

    Fixes and improvements:

    - New integrated Post Driver Install Helper tweaks the driver without tampering certificate.
    - Fixed no Headphone (CMSS) mode for SB 5.1VX (Audigy LS with shared Subsystem ID) on Windows Vista or later.
    - Fixed noise on 5.1 cards (SB 5.1VX / Audigy LS) on Windows XP.
    - Updated many components.
    - Driver based on the WHQL release from WindowsUpdate (with Headphone mode/Bass Redirection fixes by me)
    - Fixes the Headphone mode reseting to Speakers mode on reboot (all cards. including the X-Fi Xtreme Audio)

    Release Notes:

Windows Security warning during driver installation on Windows XP

When prompted with "Windows can't verify the publisher of this driver software", choose "Install this driver software anyway".

Unsupported Audigy LS / Rocketfish 5.1 / SB 5.1 VX features on Windows XP

On Windows XP, 6.1 and 7.1 Speakers configurations are incorrectly available, as those cards do not have the hardware required to support these configurations.

Selecting 6.1 or 7.1 Speakers will automatically reset the configuration to 5.1 Speakers.

Auxiliary and S/PDIF-In record inputs and Microphone +20dB Boost available in the mixer don't work, as those cards do not support the features.

Configuring CMSS on Windows Vista or later

For all supported cards, except the X-Fi Xtreme Audio, Audio Console must be used to configure CMSS, which is not available in the Entertainment Console.

    Re: P17X Series Support Pack 3.0 (08/20/2014) - AudigySE/Value/LS_Live24-bit_X-FiXtremeAudio_SB5.1VX

    It works perfectly.
Thank you for the support, always appreciated!

P.S. I'm not sure if it was you, but in this version the Subwoofer slider in the Entertainment Console works. In the last version (2.8) it wasn't doing anything, it's volume was the same no matter the position of the slider (at least for me, using an Audigy SE [SB0570]). If it was you, then thank you!

    I wonder if it supports X-Fi Xtreme Audio (PCIE) based 3rd party cards (e.g: Auzen X-Fi BRAVURA 7.1 - http://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages...-review,1.html - and AUDIOTRAK PRODIGY 7.1e X-Fi - http://audiotrack.net/en/pcie/2549 ).

I tried 2.8 and this version of P17X Support Pack. Can't make it work with CMSS 3D (Stereo Surround) on Win7 x64. Tried on Audio Console, checking option Enable CMSS doesn't help.
    My card is SB0570.
