It seems the problem is not hardware related at all. Any application using Direct Audio to capture microphone input receives a heavy load of static, while applications using OpenAL receive perfectly crisp sound from the mic.
I'm impressed by the sound quality of this headset on both the microphone and the speakers, but you guys need to fix up DA compatibility. As a gamer, being interpreted as "fruhfrun ha" is not fun.
