HS-1200 Headset and Windows 7

Hello everybody!

I run Windows 7 now and plan to purchase a W-1200 Headset. Weanwhile i tried ti figure out, if there will be an support for Windows 7 of this headset in the next time or if there is already. The threads here in the forum are disssatisfying and the products and Windows 7 pages are not helpfull or hopeless out of date.

Would be happy to get appraisal of the members of this forum or (perhaps) an valuation of creative.

Thank you very much.

Re: HS-1200 Headset and Windows 7

I use this headset in windows 7 - and in a sentance - I LOVE IT.  -

However,  There are a few caviets:

1.) This is my second headset....the first one just died after about a month...would no longer turn on....went back to store they replaced it no questions...

2.) Unfortunely I beat a headset to death, it's in use almost 24/7. I had to repair the plastic that holds the rails because it was cracking in half and the screws were pulling through the holes. So, durability is an issue for high useage.

3.) the reason i'm on the forums to even read your post is because i was inquireing about a problem that is becomming more and more frequent.  The headset has started cutting out...at various times the sound will cut out and the only way to get it back is to unplug the base from the usb port and plug it back in.  Headset will work fine untill the next time.  almost as if the base is locking up.

only recently started doing this....so may just be my system/headset

Even with those issues - I would buy a new one of these every three months to keep from strangleing myself with wires again!!!!

Hope Creative will address the quality issues though!

Re: HS-1200 Headset and Windows 7

Thank you for your answere!

But there are some questions left. Which driver are you using? The beta driver or which one? the ones that are delivered on CD are not for Windows 7 as i read. Or is Windows 7 installing the driver itself?

Greetings
