Creative MediaSource Organizer causing sound problems

Since I installed Creative MediaSource and every other software that came with the Zen Micro MP3 Player, all played music and SFX sounds like a skipping needle. Also some programs (games) are slowing down. Does anyone know something about that?

Creative MediaSource Organizer causing sound problems

I should add, that I'm using a AC'97 Audio mainboard integrated soundcard.

Re: Creative MediaSource Organizer causing sound problems

Is it only when MediaSource is running, or when the Micro is attached?

Check in Device Manager for any IRQ clashes between your on-board Sound and your USB ports.

Before posting please read the FAQ Post and your player's manual. View it on your CD or download it from here.

See this thread for links to all N200 firmware versions and this one for the V200.

Re: Creative MediaSource Organizer causing sound problems

Nope, the problem exists always 24/7, even after I uninstalled Creative MediaSource Organizer and the other programs that came with the player.

The device manager shows no conflicts between any two devices (nothing marked red). Where should I check for IRQ clashes?

Re: Creative MediaSource Organizer causing sound problems

The skipping of music is most likely caused by the lagging of the computer. Resolve this by probably increasing your RAM.

If your player works fine when not connected on the computer, then it confirms that there is nothing wrong with your player

Re: Creative MediaSource Organizer causing sound problems

I know there's nothing wrong with the player. But I'm almost definetly sure that something in the PC-Software that came with it caused my Computer to "lag". I got 512 MB RAM and never had this problem before. So I'm trying to track the thing that caused it down and remove it.

Re: Creative MediaSource Organizer causing sound problems

Ok, guys I found a problem: I got a busted hard drive, and the MP3s I loaded to it that day might just have caused it to break down at last.
