Why would an update, essentially downgrade my player? This is simply silly. Is there a way I can return my player now that it will not function as it was designed and marketed?

youre joking right.  please tell me youre joking.  i dont know why you would be joking about this, but that has to be one of the most ludicrous things ive ever heard.  I mean, that is plain ridiculous.  What kind of company do you work for???

I have never seen another DAP company do this either. I have said before that I own a Sleek Photo, and was wondering why an update never happened, but since seems to be the history of firmware upgrades here, I wouldn't upgrade anyway.
I heard rumors from other DAP boards this is because of the RIAA, but still, I wouldn't touch this if a owned a MicroPhoto.

Furthermore, the mere fact that Creative would even implement such a firmware "upgrade" tells me they don't give a flying stink about THE PEOPLE THAT BUY THEIR PRODUCTS!!!!!!!   Creative, get a clue.  Although, I think it may be too late for that.  At least you have your PC products business to keep you going.  You make great (consumer level) sound cards.
