Re: Experience with your Creative Player

SPECS
TYPE - Zen Touch
Capacity - 20 gig
DATE - X-mas 2004
PRICE - $210
COUNTRY - USA
ACCESSORIES - RCA to mini plug to hook up to my car stereo ($15)

SOUND QUALITY - Sound quality is superb.
USER INTERFACE - Excelent
SOME COMMENTS -  I love this mp3 player. I had an archos before this that was complete garbage. This one destroys it in every category. I don't have any complaints. There is no reason to overpay for an ipod when there are superior products like this out there. I would highly recomend this to anyone buying an mp3 player.

Re: Experience with your Creative Player

SPECS
Zen Touch
Capacity - 40gb
DATE - JAn 3 05
PRICE - 325 (overpriced at comp usa but needed one - u know how it is)
COUNTRY - USA
ACCESSORIES - Sony earbuds

Sound Quality Very sub par due to the treble issues I'm having. For the average user sound is fine, but I like more treble (and base) when I listen. see this thread http://forums.creative.com/creativelabs/board/message?board.id=dap&message.id=8669

Interface is fine.

Comments:
I like the very long battery life of the zen player and the fact I can use with with linux thru gnomad. The deal buster is the fact that the treble 12k band when using custom EQ does not work as it should. It does not adjust the correct Freq - it sounds like it is adjusting a mid range band instead the highs. If this is not resolved in the next few days I'll likely return my Zen touch.

Re: Experience with your Creative Player

type:Zen Micro Silver
capacity/amt. used:5gb, 2.37gb used
date purchased: 12/21/04
price paid: 250USD
Country bought in: USA
Accesories: what i can remember(what works)some sony headphones $20, portable speakers appx. $30-$40, 2 more pairs of sony headphones $40 total

Sound quality: amazing. sounds like my comps 4:2 speakers

User interface: actually took no getting used to, i can use it better than i can use an ipods wheel

Some comments: my player and my brother's black micro both work extremely well, battery life must be around 8-10 hours, i recommend this to all of my ipod/DJ using friends. 5gb is definitely enough for me, i dont like listening to the same stuff every day, and i could never see myself getting a 40gb device unless i was going to do a lot of travelling-no need for thousands of songs with me. I use it through all of school. comes with a lot of cool stuff. Removable disk is really good for bringing movies and demos of games to friends houses. also, i like having a little calender in my pocket.

type: MuVo TX
Capacity/amt. used: 256mb, 249mb used
date purchased: something like sept. 5th, 2004
price paid: 90USD
Country bought in: USA
Accesories: same as micro

Sound quality: amazing. creative is the go-to company for sound quality.

User interface: should allow for browsing instead of loading each song like it is going to play it, other than that, extremely easy to use.

Some comments: best flash based player ive ever used, loud, nice clarity, can hold like 9 or 10 CD, good to use when exercising, i skate with it all the time. never heard it skip since ive had it. ordered it from newegg, and i ordered my Micro from the CL shop.

Re: Experience with your Creative Player

SPECS
TYPE - Zen Touch
Capacity - 20G
DATE - 30th December 2004
PRICE - $440 (AUD), JB HiFi City Store
COUNTRY - Melbourne, Australia
ACCESSORIES - Wired remote was for free

SOUND QUALITY - Once I ditched the standard head-phones and plugged in my favourite Sony ones from an old CD player, it's good !  Using Pop or Rock equalizer settings.
USER INTERFACE - Touch pad is a bit tricky.  Set it to low sensitivity and it works better.  Will have to get use to it, but it does jump ahaead sometime.
SOME COMMENTS - Did a fair bit of research on MP3 players before selecting this over the 20G iPod.  A few guys have iPods at work and the battery life is absolute crap.  One iPod is down to 2 - 3 hours max, and it's onyl 6 months old !  Even various sales people claim the iPods are overrated. So, happy with my Zen touch, especailly after the latest firmware isntalled and NOTMAD installed.  Things I'd like to see in next Firmware upgrade :

  • Clock on screen (what's the point of having this if I can't see it without going into settings)
  • More equaliser settings
  • Address the touch pad - holds this back from being perfect.

Anyway, well done Creative !  Happy with my choice and I've already stuffed 3,400+ songs into it already !

<><><>><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> Happy Zen Touch 20G owner, but happier with some new firmware !

SOUND QUALITY - Its a creative product. If nothing else, you can expect the best sound !
USER INTERFACE - love the touchpad and prefer it over the click wheel and button anyday.
SOME COMMENTS - I think for all the features and size that is packed into the zen micro for the price...This product in my mind is just simple THE BEST ! there is not competition even close.

Re: Experience with your Creative Player

[ Edited ]

TYPE - Zen Micro, Silver; Zen Micro, White
Capacity - 5GB
DATE - 12/15
PRICE - $249
COUNTRY - U.S.A.
ACCESSORIES - Notta (Free extra battery with each)

SOUND QUALITY - Very good.  Headphones seem to be the limitation.  At higher volumes, they just can't keep up with the bass and midrange
USER INTERFACE - I'm using the MTP firmware version with WMP10.  No problems with syncing as many have reported.  I've synced up to 3GB in one pass with no problems  (It probably helps that most of my music was ripped with WMP.)  The WMP10 Sync interface  could use some work.  But, it's worth it for drag and drop ability.
SOME COMMENTS - My wife and I exchanged these as Christmas gifts to each other.  Great player.  No problems whatsoever.

Re: Experience with your Creative Player

SPECS:

TYPE: ZEN TOUCH

CAPACITY: 20 GIG

DATE: 28 DEC 2004

PRICE: $399 AUSTRALIAN including FM tuner & remote from Strathfield  Modbury

COUNTRY: ADELAIDE AUSTRALIA  : )

ACCESSORIES:  FM TUNER WIRED REMOTE

QUALITY: Very well designed and made

INTERFACE:  Well laid out, and easy to navigate although touch pad takes a bit of mastering

COMMENTS:

Had plenty of disc based MP3 players but this one is way above those in ease of use and functionality, especially the battery life.  Plugged in some small Sony speakers (not powered) and the sound is great for a bit of quieter background music.  FM tuner is great, but need to keep cord uncoiled for weaker stations.  Using Sony earbuds and adjusting Equaliser makes for a great sound.  Plugging output into powered amp really rocks the room.

Patched with 1.01.03 firmware fine.

Well done Creative on an excellent product!

WISHLIST:

Ability for sleep function and alarm to be added to firmware, as well as making touch pad even less sensitive.  Date and time on screen would be handy as well, as the only time it appears to be used is for filestamp when recording from voice & FM

Re: Experience with your Creative Player

SPECS
TYPE - Zen Touch
Capacity - 20 GB
DATE - 12/31/2004
PRICE - MYR750 = US$200
COUNTRY - Malaysia via lelong.com.my
ACCESSORIES - -

SOUND QUALITY - dissapointed, until now still cant find the setting for sound i like even use the custom EQ. it's terrible tested with Prodigy's Spitfire.

USER INTERFACE - not friendly enough.... especially waste a space for the "RANDOM" button, totally useless for me and annoying. Need to have extra $$$ to buy a remote. It will be nice if replace the button to Music Library or a button that can toggle in between Random, Random All, Repeat, Repeat All, Track Once etc., or EQ setting. Clock??? got setting for clock and date but cant view??? -_-b

SOME COMMENTS - i'm a MD user, i used to use remote, even i'm not using remote, the button on the machine are still user friendly (refer to Sony Walkman) and has everything u need to access and view in a quicker way. I'm really frustrated with the Random button, coz it's really easy accidently press, and i dont like to random all the mp3 in the jukebox with different gendre, album, artists song.

Mini Disc... still my favorite!!
