Hi, I recently bought a ZEN 32 GB player, but I'm experiencing the following problem:
I can fill it with songs normally, up to a certain extent. Then I get a "transfer error". I tried a clean up first, then a reboot. The former was of no use, the second allowed me to refill the player, but only up to a certain point.
Also: is it normal that my player takes a few minutes to switch on?
Thank you for your help.
Edit: - I updated firmware (well actually I only replaced it because it had already the latest version).
-it's not possible to delete songs as well

For anybody having the same problem:
I successfully tried to load songs on different subfolders (actually the ones whoe were already showing up on the player, according to creative software), even if i get occasional crashes which could depend from computer itself. They don't have any effect on player, anyway.
It keeps restarting !

Hi,
I read all the messages in this topic and unfortunately did not see similar problems.
When I dock my 8Gb Zen (FW 1.21.03) in the computer (WinXP SP2), it keeps restarting - it powers off then on again. This happens every 3 minutes appoximately.
This happened a while ago, but I updated the firmware and it fixed it. Now It started doing it again. I already tried the paperclip reset and the Cleanup, but it did not work.
Any suggestions?
By the way, I really like this player, it has great potential, but the software really cripples it. It works fine for a period, then it starts locking, I reset it, and after a few months the problems start over.
Thanks for the help,

Got an issue I hope can be cleared up. Using Windows XP, SP2, Creative Zen 2GB + SD Slot
My zen has worked fine up until this point, when I noticed that my computer no longer recognizes it, and that it won't turn on. It also won't enter recovery mode. My guess is that the internal battery is dead? Any suggestions what I could do to get it to work again and/or why the battery died so quickly?
I've got a warrenty on it from the store where I purchased it, so if anything I will end up getting it replaced..
Thanks for the help

Since you have a warranty return it. In the meantime have you tried the reset??(push a straightened paperclip into reset hole)

My 32GB Zen randomly turned off and wouldn't turn back on. I plugged it into an AC charger and the power light just flashed, it wouldn't reset. Nothing happens when i try the proper reset or just press the button reset.
Right now im charging it from USB and the light is flashing. The light disappears somthimes tho and when i plug it out and reconnect it the light wont turn on. When the light is flashing and i hiit the reset button the light wont flash until i release it, this is a good sign right? it shows the buttons working..right?
I need help please

I wanted to share my favorite thing about using Overdrive Media Audio Books (checked out through my local library) on my Zen 8 gb player.
As I'm sure users already know, the protected WMA files from Overdrive expire after some specified period of time, usually 1 to 2 weeks. After that time, you can't transfer them to a device or listen to them from your computer. The great thing I've discovered about using them on the Zen, is that as long as I transfer the files to my device before the expiration date, I can listen to them on the player indefinitely.
Don't know why this is, or whether it's something unique to Creative players, but I like being able to fill my player with 8 or 10 audio books at once and not worry about finishing them on a particular schedule. ![]()

I was given a Zen Mozaic EZ100 for christmas, and it's been nothing but trouble....I'm new to Creative products, I switched from my 2nd gen iPod Nano because I was completely sick of it playing up all the time, and wanted to try something else.
After 3 weeks (at least 5 hours every single day) of battling with the appaulling Creative Centrale software (worse than iTunes, that only took 2 weeks of battling to force it to do something akin to what I wanted it to do), yesterday I gave up and just started using a drag-n-drop method to transfer my music files to the device, which up until 2 hours ago, I thought had worked perfectly.
In short, my player will only recognise MP3 files, when it clearly states in the Centrale software Settings section and in the instruction booklet I got with the player that it also supports WMA, M4A, MP3 and FLAC file formats. I now apparently have 1500 in the Music folder on My Zen when connected to the pc....however my device is saying it only has 539 tracks on it.
I know the simple answer is to just use a convertion program on my 1000 invisible songs, but the fact is that it's own software states that this shouldn't be happening! Am I just missing an obvious setting somewhere that will allow it to recognise all file formats?

I don't know what Operating System you are using but, I will say this Centrale is crappy software. Now that said. Some info for you. As far as I know FLAC is ONLY supported by the new X-FI2 player. The Mozaic will play WMA,MP3 ,& Audible 4 music files. It should work on a Vista or Win7 system without any Creative software installed using Windows Media Player to sync the files. I would do a Cleanup>Reboot thru Rescue/Recovery mode. http://forums.creative.com/t5/MP3-Players/How-do-I
