I've read in reviews this mp3 player has no dedicated volume control, but i read in a comment that led me to believe ther e might be possible to use the up/down or left/right buttons when playing music to control the volume. Is that correct?
Also I read you can use MSC mode but only in 2gb blocks, is it possible to just have it as 1 big 8gb block? Also if it does use 2gb blocks does the player know to look across all the blocks when playing music?

The directional buttons, up & down on the ZEN Mosaic functions as the volume control while a song or video is playing. The MSC mode is known as the Removable Disk mode. The maximum configurable removable disk capacity depends on your player's memory size. I was able to set 1.5GB on the 2GB test unit.
