I tried it on my sisters mac workbook and the mouse works fine.
I tried it on my dell laptop and this mouse works fine.
I even tried it on an old athlon 1 system I have in the basement for a music server and this mouse works fine.
I have a feeling it is a problem with either:
The mouse's wake up power requirement
OR
The power scheme for the USB port.
So In leiu of this discovery, i decided to do an experiment.
I found an old PS2 to USB adapter from a mouse i bought years ago and plugged the 2020 into the ps2 port. Low and behold the lights on the mouse illuminated but it would not function due to the ps2 interface.
step two was to make a cable taking the ps2 port's power and using the usb's interface.
BLAMMO mouse works but now its pegged in the right hand side of the screen.
so now i have my awnser about this 2020.
IF AND ONLY IF you plug it in to your computer and it functions GREAT!!! Use the mouse. However, IF it dosen't instantly work on your computer throw it away and get a different mouse.
Problem solved.

I am also having the same problem on an XP sp2 system. Im using a very low end mobo (ECS) The system recognizes the mouse with the correct name in Device Manager. Like many others, I can click/right click with no lights on or movement.
Oh, well. Good thing I only bought this sucker for $15 on Clearance haha!
EDIT: Well it seems that it works if I plug it into my new G11 keyboard usb port!

I have a similar problem..
My laptop responds when I'm pluggin in the mouse but no movement can be done.. Just the buttons works!
I tested it on my brothers laptop.... and it worked just fine.
I tried at our home pc.... No problems at all.
Just at my own laptop.
Of some mysterious reason the mouse do not work on some computers... argh
I agree with the previous posts.... Throw it away if it not instantly work. Dont bust your ass trying to fix it.
Your welcome, Marbar

Different computers have different configurations and programs - maybe you can examine and eliminate why your mouse works with your home pc and your brother's laptop and not on your own. Maybe creative can have a general basic configuration specified in the product so that customers will know where it will work well and if their configuration or computer meets it to make it work.
