Re: Installation CD ISO image for Creative products.

icemaxer,

Is the model number embedded in the serial number also sb0220, or is the final digit different?

stuserver,

Have you tried the ctcomp fix (e.g., look here and here) yet? Version 7.6.0 is supposed to work for sb0090.

No, I haven't tried it yet.  And my friend just moved and took the cd with him, and I didn't make copies of it...  And the CD-Rip at BadBoys website is still giving me CRC errors (I have my WinRar in spanish, so the CRC may be the error code in Spanish, not English sorry!)

Will try that as soon as I get another copy of the original CD.

Thanks.

Downloading, as I type, hopefully this CD will with the patch you recomended.  In about 2 hrs. and 14 mins, I will have a workable CD for my Audigy Platinum [OEM???].  It would be nice to have such card, as I got it only for $15 US Dollars.  However, I don't know what was the price of the card when it hit the market.  Any ideas of what the price was?

[OEM???  Because, I am not sure if the card is an OEM product, or not.  Hopefully it isn't.]

Thank you Katman for all of your help, and for what appears is taking over BadBoy's thread.
I haven't heard of him in a while, how do you think he is doing?

EDIT:  Tried the CD image provided by Katman, and it only installs the PlayCenter, the Diagnostics, and two other things.  For the Surround Mixer, the Audio HQ, and the EAX Goldmine do not install.  Also, Windows drivers don't install either, as the ReadReg application CRASHES the whole Windows, the computer restarts in the middle of Driver installation, and there is a message:  The system recovered from a serious error.  It takes me to the Creative Website, and tells me to install the Software Autoupdate to update my applications.  THERE IS NO WAY I AM GETTING THE UPDATES, as they put LIMITED FUNCIONALITY to my sound card (s) [I also have a sound blaster Live!  24-bit, but pulled it out of the computer before installing.]

What can I do?  Should I look into Modding my card from Audigy 1- Audigy 4 Pro?

BTW:  I tried them, and THEY DON"T WORK AT ALL EITHER.  SO I AM STUCK with a card, that was at least $200 when brand new, and I can't even use it at it's fullest.

Thank you for all of your help.

Re: Installation CD ISO image for Creative products.

I have the proper install cd for my sb0220 and I get this error message:

Could not detect any sound blaster audio card on your system
please insure that your sound blaster hardware is properly installed.

I'm pretty sure I installed it right. There shouldn't be anything I need to do besides plug it into a pci slot right?

Thanks a Ton :)

Badboy,
Thanks a lot for your original CD uploads. I just registered to post a thanks to ya

My Problem was:
I had a DELL OEM Soundblaster X-FI Xtreme music card and didnt have any creative softwares except the "creative Audio console". So it was difficult for me to test speakers, change settigns and other stuff.

What I did:
just downloaded the X-FI CD from your site, downloaded a mod from another site to make the CD work with OEM cards and now Everything is fluid. I love my card lyk never before now

Cheers

stuserver,

In the \audio directory on the installation CD, do you have subdirectories named eaxcon, spkset, surmixer, etc? If so, run the setup files in these directories to install those applets. Also, I assume you installed the driver from the CD. (If not, try running ctzapxx.exe in the \audio\drivers subdirectory on the CD and select "overwrite existing...".)

There was some discussion on the forums about installing Audigy 2 software for Audigy cards. I don't have a link handy other than what I posted a little earlier, but a forum search should turn it up. I don't have any information on using Audigy 4 software.

icemaxer,

Have you tried it in different PCI slots? Also make sure any onboard sound is disabled in BIOS.
