stuserver,

In the \audio directory on the installation CD, do you have subdirectories named eaxcon, spkset, surmixer, etc? If so, run the setup files in these directories to install those applets. Also, I assume you installed the driver from the CD. (If not, try running ctzapxx.exe in the \audio\drivers subdirectory on the CD and select "overwrite existing...".)

There was some discussion on the forums about installing Audigy 2 software for Audigy cards. I don't have a link handy other than what I posted a little earlier, but a forum search should turn it up. I don't have any information on using Audigy 4 software.

Well, I don't know what did it, maybe it was because I had two Creative Cards installed on my system, or whatever, but I finally got ALL the software installed on my pc WITHOUT having to patch the CD to accept my card.  I first installed the Sound Blaster Live!  24-Bit CD, rebooted, and then installed my Audigy without any problems at all.  Then I uninstalled my SB Live, as I was going to use my Audigy more than the other card.  It would be nice though to use Audigy 2 software on my Audigy, as the software, and utilities look cheezy (well, they were for 2001, we are in 2007! diferent themes on the apps would look nice!!) and would like to do so.

I got everything that came with the CD, and even went to update my drives from the Creative Site, and it just sounds great.  I will keep testing the capabilities of the Audigy, and see how it goes.

I just want to thank you a lot Katman for all of your help and bearing with my issues.

Another thing that is so funny, the Audigy, Audigy Platinum, Audigy Platinum eX, and the Audigy Player sound cards (if I am not mistaken) have the SAME model ID:  SB00090 and all of them are upgradable to the Platinum eX, as the eX included the Game Port, and front Bay, and the rest of the cards have all the ports for upgrade.  Funny.

Thanks, and I will look for how to use Audigy 2 Software on my Audigy, or Platinum, or eX, and Player (whichever version it is...)

Re: Installation CD ISO image for Creative products.

If I disable the bios for my origanal sound card (which is integrated to the motherboard) will I easily be able to enable it if the sound card I am trying to install doesn't work?

Also has anyone else had a similar problem to mine in which this error message came up:

Could not detect any sound blaster audio card on your system
please insure that your sound blaster hardware is properly installed

This comes up when I put the installation disk in. Also it came up when I just tried using the drivers from creatives website.

Have you tried the ctcomp fix (e.g., look here and here) yet? Version 7.6.0 is supposed to work for sb0090.

Before you try to patch up your installation CD, can you install the drivers found on the Audio\Drivers folder?  Just run the CTZAPXX.EXE and the installation of drivers will begin.  With the drivers installed, then you can go ahead and try the installation.  If that doesn't work, copy and paste all the files on the CD to your hard drive, and run the patch, its supposed to work for your SB model version.

Also, make sure you have the right installation CD for your Creative Sound Blaster XXXX XXX product. (The Xs stand for Model, and Version.)

Shahadi,

What is the serial number on your Audigy? And what type of problem are you having with the downloaded iso?

Re: Installation CD ISO image for Creative products.

HI Guys,
I have an Extigy from way back, and trying to use it now with my new setup(Win xp pro). However, after downloading the iso from badboy. It refuses to install. the message "Cannot detect any extigy plugged into the pc appeared". can someone help me with this please?

When i plugged it in, it says usb device not recognized. I tried adding driver manually to , but windows xp wont recognize the driver in the cd which is for win2k.

:smileysad:
Many thanks in advance.
