Problem with SBXF_PCDRV_LB_2_15_0006 and Creative RM-1800 remote

[ Edited ]

I have had this problem with SBXF_PCDRV_LB_2_15_0006 and SBXF_PCDVRBETA_LB_2_14_0001 drivers but not in SBXF_PCDRV_LB_2_09_0007.

Problem is: When i use the remote to adjust the master volume it only affects the left channel. This is clearly a driver issue as it was no problem in the old driver. Of course it might also be a matter of updating the Entertainment center (if that is the one containing the remote software), to conform to new drivers.

I really hope this get fixed soon!

Please tell me if you need more info.

Regards

I get a similar problem and I dont even use a remote control. If I knew where to get the previous version drivers I would revert back to them

Can you go into Device Manager and do a rollback there?  that *sometimes* works.

Re: Problem with SBXF_PCDRV_LB_2_15_0006 and Creative RM-1800 remote

THIS IS A 3RD PARTY METHOD AND OF COURSE THERE IS NO SUPPORT !!!

BEFORE YOU PROCEED PLEASE UNISTALL EVERYTHING AND USE DRIVERSWEEPER OR DRIVERCLEANER TO CLEAN YOUR REGISTRY TOO !!!

Ok here's a new alternative way that new driver will work 100% both XP and Vista (32/64)

install the 2007 suite (please do custom and do not install the audio drivers except everything else)

http://rapidshare.com/files/109760807/2007Suite-PAX.part2.rar
http://rapidshare.com/files/109763635/2007Suite-PAX.part3.rar
http://rapidshare.com/files/109766722/2007Suite-PAX.part4.rar
http://rapidshare.com/files/109769992/2007Suite-PAX.part5.rar
http://rapidshare.com/files/109770659/2007Suite-PAX.part6.rar

(please burn the suite on a CD or DVD)(some applications have been moddified from the original 2007suite-pax, please re-download the suite!!!)

Ok after the installation of suite is finished do not restart your PC and install the following drivers:

http://rapidshare.com/files/109755063/SBXF_PCDRV_LB_2_15_0006_FX.rar

Now you can restart the PC. Tested with all versions of windows (Windows XP / Vista both 32 and 64 bit !!!)

Master Volume works, remote control works too... CHECK IT OUT

Nothing happens. i.e the sound is not muted. Even though it shows the icon in the corner.

And nothing happens on the speaker volume tab.

Well i could just uninstall and remove the new driver and install an old one, but i'm the kind of guy that wants the newest driver. And i also have 4GB of mem, and there was something about a bug fix for that.

In short i want the newest driver to work or make creative fix the bug!

Sounds a bit dodgy, but i'll try it out. Who have modified these drivers? bit more info please, digital_man?

Edit: And i can only download a file every 99 mins from this rapidshare :smileysad:  is there a torrent somewhere or?

To creative: Why the hell can't you just downlaod the newest CD from creatives site. Whats the point in keeping the cd not accessible. What if people loose it? Creative??

Re: Problem with SBXF_PCDRV_LB_2_15_0006 and Creative RM-1800 remote

To Digital_man: Thanx :smileyhappy:

The YuoP-Pax release worked exellently. The links you provided were very frustrating though. So here is a link directly to the forum where it can be downloaded: http://www.youp-pax.org/forumdisplay.php?fid=13

Only release 2007 has the support software(Creative Entertainment Center) for the Remote control.

I used the newest driver on that page though.

I tried to install the 2008 version first and then i thought i could install the entertainment center separately. But that was not possible for me :smileysad:

To sum up: It works with 3rd party modified software/drivers (Which as far as i understand is mostly the newest vista software with OS check disabled).

To creative i have to say that this is very bad service on an otherwise good product. I would not be surprised to see you loose customers over this.
