jinshifu are you using more than 4GB of ram?
I have the same card and you can't use this driver with more than 4GB of ram. Their is currently no working driver for SB Audigy 2 version SB0240 using windows 7 (64bit) with over 4GB of ram. It's the whole reason I started that petition thread.
Even with this driver pack the mic doesn't work with only 4GB, I think you have to set windows 7 to only recognize like 3.25GB to get it to work. I read that somewhere but didn't try it yet since having to lose 4.75GB of ram is pretty dumb imo just to get your sound card to work.

Watching video in VLC (with my headphones on) resulted in loud sound buzz in the middle of the movie, and Vista (x32) freeze.
The sound card is Audigy 1 or 2.. I'm not sure, will check out later.

i think its a hell about time for some fresh an clean bugfree drivers:
- without bugged micro on win7 (like me), or even under xp64 micro just doesnt work at all
- without massissues with more than 4gig of ram
- dd 5.1/dts decoder dont work right unter win7 (keeps clapping and switching or doesnt switch at all to dd/dts)
- latest offcial drivers just missing all the extras and NOT even have the dd5.1/dts activationcodec listed in the creative console?!?!?!
more bugs to come..

Thank you Daniel, for all your work.
Can anyone here explain why 5.1 works through VLC, but not through WMP or WMC and why it is such a problem that no one has been able to correct it? Also, do we stand a chance of having this corrected in the future or is it simply not going happen?

5.1 works in VLC because VLC has all of the decoding codecs built into it. It does not use outside codecs or packs unless you tell it to. That is why it is popular because they included everything into its base code.

Thanks for your reply, but how does this make a difference? Windows 7 has native support for H.264 and I'm using AC3Filter for audio, which is absolutely capable of 5.1 surround. I find it hard to believe that this is a codec issue.
I guess what I'm really wondering is if this is by design for content protection or something similar. If I were to purchase a DTS/Dolby license and use SPDIF out instead of analog, would I not have a problem with 5.1 playback through WMP or WMC?
Alternately, is it a limitation of the DSP in the Audigy 2 ZS? If I were to purchase an X-Fi series card, would I be able to use 5.1 surround over analog?
Or is Creative just giving us the shaft so we will "upgrade" to something newer?

There appears to be some problem with AC3filter and Windows 7. I don't know if they are relevant to youir issue (I don't have Windows 7), but check out some of the relevant posts in

VICTORY!
Thanks for the tips. I have never had any issues with AC3Filter in the past, so I didn't even suspect that it could be the problem! That's what I get for lazy troubleshooting and trusting something that had worked for me in the past.
Uninstalled AC3Filter and installed ffdshow, set it as default filter only for AC3, E-AC3, DTS, and Dolby.
I now get true channel seperation and full 5.1 surround in Windows Media Center.
Awesome.
