Re: Windows 7 x64 X-Fi drivers!! - Vista ones work.

I agree that creative should have at least a Beta driver out by now.  Almost all of my other hardware has W7 drivers; even if as in the case with Nvidia they are not the most recent version.

However, with that being said, if you download the most recent Vista x64 driver, set the program compatibility properly to be Vista then they install OK, and appear to work.

Re: Windows 7 x64 X-Fi drivers!!

I have an X-fi fatality card and after numerous installs with trial and error this is how I got my card to work. First download all the most recent drivers and console and any other software you are going to want. Then in compatibility mode with admin priviliges (and this goes for all creative software) install the console you downloaded from the net and restart. Then do the same for the driver and restart. Now you have sound. Then put original Vista Creative disc in and again in compatibility mode w/admin priv. install anything else from disc but make sure that you do a custome install and not install the driver or console from the disc, reboot. Then one by one you can install any other Creative updated software you downloaded. Everything works except CMSS-3D. If you have a surround sound system and want to hear music in all speakers I suggest useing KM Player. It has an option for 5.1 surround during installation. For everything else like movies if it was encoded in surround sound you will hear it in surround sound, you just can't use the CMSS-3D utility to emulate it. Hope this helps. I hope creative dosen't do what they did for Vista when they took their time realeasing drivers and when they did charged you for the disc with drivers and software before releasing them on the net.

Re: Windows 7 x64 X-Fi drivers!!

I got them working but what a pain. I had to manual extract all the drivers and then go the every executeable and put it in compatibility mode set to run as administrator. After the last reboot I had to go to the windows control panel and set it to 5.1 speakers. After that, the audio console would then see all speakers.

LOL! It probably would have taken less time reformating and installing Win 7 from scratch. Glad to hear you got some sound working.

Hmm, have absolutely no problems with my X-Fi Titanium card and beta drivers XFTI_PCDRVBETA_2_17_0006. Also installed Creative Console Launcher 2.60.29 and it's working great ^^ Except cmss3d but I don't use it anyway :smileytongue:

Re: Windows 7 x64 X-Fi drivers!! - Vista ones work.

Hi, it's been a long time.

Well, I already have a working Windows 7 compatible pack, suporting all X-Fi (legacy PCI, PCI-E Titanium and Prelude).

Got CMSS working and a nice gift for XP users.

All setup scripts were modified to support Windows 7 and to properly install the software/drivers without any tweaks.

Give me some time to upload the new pack.

PS: An updated Audigy pack is also ready for release.

PS2: I'm back!
