Hi, im new to this forum. My english is not the best so i hope that i can describe my problem in a way you understand it.
I`m using windows 7 home premium and i own a x-fi xtreme audio pci-e sound card. i downloaded the newest drivers (v1.4000) from creative.
1st... why there is no creative console starter? I`m missing the old xp style mixer software from creative.
My problem is that win7 declares my microphone as line in. so its not possible for me to make the right settings. nearly everything works fine but i cant use a microphone. in xp it works correct, in vista too but not in win7.
i hope you can help me out? Maybe there`s an older driver version with a console starter and the good old creative sound & mixer tool.
Thank you for help.
rgds, Mike.

This package will give you all the applications and drivers you will want. Without them, you cannot tell your system what the function of the flexi-jack is, Mic or Line-in.

Hi, i downloaded this file and try an install but it tells me that it cant found a supported sound card.
I use an Creative X-FI Soundblaster Audio Extreme PCi-e.
BTW: Allow me a simple question... why is daniel_k making this support packs and not creative? Does creative pay anything for it? I think no, so why we do pay for their cards? I think that i never will buy a creative card again... never...

OK Gentleman, the problem is fixed, and this with the original and actuall creative drivers.
Because daniel_k`s unofficial soundpacks didnt work for me, i decided to install the actuall creative drivers and started a support request. In the meanwhile i installed the official updates which are provided in autoupdate function. With driver 1.4000 there is no possibility to set flexijack to mikro so its not possible to use the mikrophone.
After restart the windows update function shows an creative update, which is not shown with the creative autoupdate tool (ugly i think but thats true). I decided to use the windows update, downloaded it, restarted the pc and now...
Start Creative systemconfig:

Now everything works fine. EAX is working, Crystalizer is working... The only thing which is not possible... using 2 analog inputs at same time. Because i own a analog tv card, i have to use the onboard realtek analog cd in. With XP and Vista it was possible to watch tv and use teamspeak for example... now i can watch tv or use teamspeak but its not possible to do this at same time.

There may be a way to do this:
Do not give up until you have tried this.
You can set your microphone to be the "microphone FP" or Microphone Front Panel jack. There is a four pin connector on your card toward the back that connects to your case's front panel jacks. You can plug the microphone into the jack. Then if you use the Creative control panel, set the back jack on the sound card, to be a line-in. So now, theoretically, you should be able to do what you say. You have a separate recording source and a line in source.
I do not know that this works, but you definitely will have two separate inputs using this.
