Re: X-fi Sorround 5.1

Some people here have mentioned using the default drivers that Vista installs. I tried that but it doesn't enable 5.1 audio through S/PDIF, you'll only get stereo audio. For now I uninstalled all Creative software and drivers, let Vista install its default drivers then went into the soundcard properties and manually updated the drivers to the Vista drivers on the CD without installing any of the other included bloat on the CD. This enables DTS and DD through S/PIDF to the reciever, and while it's still a bit off, the audio shift is nowhere near as drastic as it was when using the installer on the CD and installing the drivers along with all the other useless garbage included.

I'm using this card mainly with the Media Center, and I'm using the Media Control Plugin that enables ffdshow within Media Center. While watching a movie I can pull up an audio properties menu and shift the audio 100ms for proper sync, but this has to be done every time I watch a new movie or video. Works for me for now as a temporary solution, but Creative really needs to stop slacking and actually address this issue.

Re: X-fi Sorround 5.1

I'm also having troubles with the delay (vista 32bit) and I would apreceate to know weather theres somebody working on it and the problem is going to be solved
I would love to keep the card as it provides good sound, but the delay is noteceable and disturbing at all applications. (Video, Games, etc...)
If theres no help in sight I would prefer to give the card back.

Personally I feel ripped off and this was definitely the last time I bought anything from Creative and I will do my best to recommend people NOT to buy Creatives´products.

Hey Creative are you working on this. ANYBODY.....

The sound lag is terrible and considering the majority of us bought your surround card to watch movies in 5.1 surround and can't due to the lag is ridiculous. Can you at least give us an update?
