Hummm, tough question. I was thrown off by what was meant by 'captures', so I looked up the definition:
cap·ture
tr.v. cap·tured, cap·tur·ing, cap·tures
1. To take captive, as by force or craft; seize.
2. To gain possession or control of, as in a game or contest: capture the queen in chess; captured the liberal vote.
3. To attract and hold: tales of adventure that capture the imagination.
4. To succeed in preserving in lasting form: capture a likeness in a painting.
I think we are going with the 4th definition, so I then went to determine what type of storage the Vado uses. From the looks of it, I am going to assume it is flash (a HD would take up too much room and there would be more storage space). From looking around, there are no exact numbers but flash memory can only store data for approximantly 10 years (or a few million writes). I then compared this to paintings, where the use of the word 'capture' is most likely derived from, where the oldest painting is approximently 32,000 years old, and 500 year old paintings are not uncommon. Since paintings, which I am using as a standard definition for what a 'lasting form' is, last for a 3200 to 50 orders of magnitude longer than flash memory, I concluded that flash memory can not suscesfully capture data and perserve it in a lasting form. Thus, I selected false as my answer.
So did I get the question right, or are mods not allowed to give any hints?? ![]()

I got the 15000'th post in the Lounge!!

Penguinking3,
Don't be thrown off by the word.
It's not really that difficult ![]()

John, did you get a message or something that says europe is not covered? I'm not sure but it should be open to ROW (rest of the world). When I go to the contest page, I can chose a country. Hmm...will try to verify this.
