Sound Blaster Xtreme Audio missing Stereo Mix

I've tried searching around for a solution and in the process i've done the following:

1. Download the newest drivers (1.04.0090)

2. Clicked 'show disabled devices' in the recording devices section.

Stereo mix/'what u hear' are still missing.

I'm running windows 7 x64.

Any help would be appreciated.

p.s: have also run the auto software update utilities (creative and windows) just in case.

Re: Sound Blaster Xtreme Audio missing Stereo Mix

I'm going to bump this because I'd manage to resolve it myself, but now I'm back at square one. What I did:

- Uninstalled 1.04.0090 from device manager.

- Removed all creative software.

- Restarted.

- Windows auto-installed some drivers and suddenly my stereo mix was back.

Unfortunately, when I ran abelton, windows BSODed, so i decided to reinstall the creative drivers temporarily.

Now I can't for the life of me get stereo mix back.

I know it can be done so I'd like to hear something from creative support. I also noticed that this topic went from over 100+ views to the current 20+.

Are there any new drivers in the works?

I also got the same problem and i got the same card, also its pretty annoying that on loud sounds, volume is auto-configured(not moving sliders, just noticable)  making listening to music imposible; as far as i remember these problems existed on windows vista aswell..

[ Edited ]

I think I'm having a similar problem with my Windows 7 Professional system.

I'm am getting sound out of my card.

When I right click on the "speaker" icon in the task bar I see the following list of 5 options

Volume Mixer

Playback Devices

Recording Devices

Sounds

Volume Control Options

However when I click on "playback devices", "Recording Devices" and "sounds" nothing comes up.

What I did do is completely uninstall all traces of any installed Creative software and in the device manager did an uninstall for the SB Xtreme Audio Card.

My recording device is the integrated microphone in the Logitech Quickcam/IM that I have installed. If I go to accessories and click on "sound recorder" it doesn't start up either.

The other issue that I see is that when I go into Control Panel and click on Sounds, nothing happens.

Something is definitely going on but I can't seem to track down the cause.
