Re: Audigy SE line-in not working

 Hello !!

I'm new to this forum as I'm new in hardware and software.i'm learning as I'm doing!

I'm having trouble with SB Audigy SE line-in connection.I've installed the sound card and the Creative

CD presented several problems(or Windows considered them as problems) and the computer

recognizes the sound card but only the speaker's line-out seems to be working. When I open

the windows volume control or eny kind of audio device control I can find,he says everything is OK,but

Line-in is "processing" as everything else except speaker's.I've already pulled out most part of the

few hairs I have !!!Maybe someone can help?

          Motherboard  ECS P4M800PRO-M2

          Pentium socket 775  3.00 gHz

          2.1 speaker's

          Windows Vista home basic

BTW when I've inserted the sound card I've noticed that the cable connecting to "Audio 1"

socket has another (not connected) plug with "HD AUDIO"written on it.Should I change the

plug's? I use the sound card mostly to record short wave broadcasting radio stations and

          decode digital amateur transmission's.

All help will be most welcome

                                                                  Greetings

Re: Audigy SE working Multichannel in Vista!

I am currently using the latest Vista drivers, but when I was using my workaround, Testing Tones do work because they are encoded for 5.1, Nero Showtime plays 5.1 content you say? MP3s or Video? Try installing the Ace Codec pack, google it, I've had good luck with it, luck to ya'll

Re: Audigy SE working Multichannel in Vista!

Does anybody get a similar error message when they try to run Smart Recorder:
"There is no audio device available on the system. The application will now close."

Has any of the previous above posts, replies, and suggestions like installing XP drivers instead, help resolve this recording issue problem ???

Re: Audigy SE working Multichannel in Vista!

There is a newer driver, but Creative haven't officially released it.

You have to download the latest X-Fi drivers and (winrar) extract the setup.exe
Inside after much searching, you will find the drivers.

After this download the Alchemy for Audigy (on this forum)

Then go ahead and install surround mixer, speaker settings from your audigy 2 disc.

Instead you can always google kX Mixer and get those Vista drivers instead.

Hope this is of some help, as it seems Creative plain IGNORE Audigy owners now.

[ Edited ]
I found a: kX Project Audio Driver 5.10.0.3537 version from this site:http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=929 ....but it was added back in 2004, so not sure if its the latest one or if its Vista Compatible. Then on another forum another version appeared:
QUOTE:
"For those people fed up with Creative and their driver support as of late, check out the kX series of drivers.

If you have an Audigy or Audigy 2 you wont be disappointed. Full Vista support and drastically improved sound quality. Nice small download as well."

Direct Download: http://download.kxproject.lugosoft.com/dow...v3538m-full.exe

....oh well, guess its trial and error time again.

Re: Audigy SE working Multichannel in Vista!

So.. should I use the new kx audio driver or should I do the workaround to get the latest Audigy2 driver from the X-fi + alchemy?

Which one produces a better sound and overall good experience?
