I don't have 5.1 system, (using 4.1) so there're no any issues for me. But I wouldn't think that it's due to overload 'cause they're exactly the same hardware.
And about the CD, I'd be very grateful for your patiance if you upload the whole CD.

At last workaround was found!
As it was already told in this thread before, all you need is Vista driver from the latest CD. The ISO of the disk seems to be uploaded, so it wouldn't be a problem.
After installation you'll get working Creative Audio Center from which you can easly manage such things like Bass Redirection and CMSS. But it is still not the solution: after reboot, stand-by or even connecting of any USB-device the settings will change (all the speakers become all-band in the Vista's speaker settings) so the Bass Redirection turns off and you either have to change speaker settings from control panel or reset to default from Audio Console.
But there's the solution. All the settings of every audio device are store in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr
(there would be a few GUID's if you have more than one audio device and you have to find which is used)
there're few values in the Properties subkey. If speakers are all-band there would values:
"{1da5d803-d492-4edd-8c23-e0c0ffee7f0e},3"=dword:0
"{1da5d803-d492-4edd-8c23-e0c0ffee7f0e},6"=dword:0
otherwise:
"{1da5d803-d492-4edd-8c23-e0c0ffee7f0e},3"=dword:0
"{1da5d803-d492-4edd-8c23-e0c0ffee7f0e},6"=dword:0
All you have to do is to set up all the settings as you wish. And after that, run regedit and navigate to 'HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\MM
Good luck!

Just wanna give you a BIG thank you, it solved my trouble too, wich was that i didn't get any sound with my SB Audigy SE in Windows Wista 64bit at all but thanks to you its now all golden and sweet. Without you i would still used onboard soundbord. Even tried Daniel_K's project but that failed, but you... man you're awsome. Hail to the King!

Hey! just found this and had a wonderful affair with my (long since lost) soundcard after I had to re-install vista. Alas, it only worked for the afternoon. I've got audigy 2 ZS and I thought what the hell, I'll try this workaround. I was in THX, changing settings, tweaking my system like its not since 2006! I was having a blast! Then, the sound would unexpectedly and repeatedly just go out. Sometimes restarting the computer was the only way to get it back. So, I had to download the 'latest' creative drive. Now, my sound is working in all 5.1 speakers, but - man! Where did all the power go? I was rockin' the hell out of the remastered Exodus earlier today - the windows almost fell out the house! Now? psshh!
I may try to replicate the steps tomorrow, but for now, this workaround didn't work for Audigy 2 ZS for me. I'd love to know if someone else had a solution.
