[ Edited ]
Setup went smoothly on RC2, both x86 and x64. The drivers are signed but Vista asks if you trust the source and you can't continue until you click yes. It installs a driver for the gameport but the device manager still shows it as an unknown device.

The recording devices panel no longer crashes, and it activates all the analog inputs (haven't tried them all). The playback devices panel allows to configure the speakers as 5.1/7.1 and to control all the level sliders that surround mixer offers in XP.

Since it is pretty late I haven't tested with the 7.1 setup, only with headphones, but the DD/DTS decoder works and UT2004 no longer suffers a slowdown after installing the drivers.

Tomorrow I will do proper testing but it seems that I am having troubles again with SPDIF pass-through. Overall this release seems like a step in the right direction, let's hope for complete features when Vista is released.

EDIT: This results are with an Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro

Re: Creative Sound Blaster Audigy series Vista Beta Driver 2.11.0000 (11 Oct 06)

Hi,

The driver installs fine apart from the unrecognised gameport. However though when trying to configure the number of speakers through control pannel by double clicking sound, selecting Creative SB Audigy, and clicking configure, only headphones or stereo speakers are available with no 5.1 or quadraphonic option like there was in the previous driver.

This is when the driver is being used on an original auidgy without the firewire port.

I have tried unistalling and reinstalling the driver multiple times without success.

Please include the model/version of the Audigy card you're using in the reports.

Re: Creative Sound Blaster Audigy series Vista Beta Driver 2.11.0000 (11 Oct 06)

I download SBAX_PCDVTBETA_US_2_11_0000.exe an try to install on Vista RC2 5744 64bits for my Audigy 2 ZS.

Installer is blocked by Windows and interrupt before installation with this message :

Creative Device Driver Installation Program has stopped working.
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

If I us "Run in administrator", it's the same.

If I decompress the .exe and install the drivers with the Driver's update of Windows, the drivers are correctly install but I have no sound. I try change sound's parameters but nothing, and Creative Audio Console don't found my Audigy.

I try launch directly Setup. Windows are stopped install and relaunch with correctly parameters, I had the message : Your version on Windows Operating System is not supported by this product. Please upgrade to Windows Vista or later version before resuming installation.

I have this problem with all versions of drivers and all versions of Vista...

I hoped that this update was best...

Blah! Not much of an update. It will let me select 5.1 in the speaker config, but it's still plain old stereo in everything...
