Creative vs its Customers !

Hi Creative,

great job on starting a WAR against your own customers !

I'm happy to announce that by your recent actions AGAINST your customers I have decided NEVER to purchase a Creative product again.  I'm also happy to say that within 30 minutes of your horrible news I've managed to convince 3 people to NOT purchase planned Creative products.

It's indeed not a lot but at least I'm doing something.

I urge you all to to do the same against a company that is only trying to decieve its community.

Keep up the alienating your customers style and hopefully soon it will be Creative R.I.P. !!

I am sure that I will never buy a creative product again.

If anyone asks me about Creative products, I will just fill them in and let them make their own decisions.

Oh BTW:

Maybe there is a reason for this?  Just amazing to me.  Daniel was actually HELPING CREATIVE.  If it wasnt for him, I bet there are hundreds of people who would have bought another companies product.

I realize to stay in business they need new purchases.  But Creative support has always sucked, people just dealt with it.  Vista came along, and that just wasnt possible.  Why would an Audigy owner want to buy anything new given this attitude.  Maybe Creative thinks those owners would have never bought another product anyways?

From what I hear though, is that Creative is close to bankruptcy.  They have already sold their HQ buidling.  When investor come calling, they will need to have something to sell.  And might be the reason they are enforcing their IP rights now.

To me it does make some sense.  Audigy owners arent going to be buying a new soundcard anytime soon.  If they were, they wouldnt be going to this extend to get it to work in Vista.  Soundcards last a lot longer than most other components.  The whole thing makes sense, delay good drivers for Vista.  Nix some features through the drivers.  Hope to get people to buy a new card.

Its either that are start charging more, inline with Auzentech and such.

Re: Creative vs its Customers !

Since the CL Moderators are intent upon destroying the evidence of their customer's outrage before the opening bell tomorrow, let me say again how disappointed I am with Creative.  I am even more dissapointed to see these totalitarian-style™ tactics to quash dissent amongst the community.  You guys really should apply to the Chinese Communist party.

You can consider me a customer lost for life.

I own an Elite Pro and a set of Gigaworks S750.

I really like them. The sound card is capable of semi-pro music authoring, and the speakers are quite balanced by themselves (they only need some slight EQing).

However, the past 3 years I've suffered so many problems with the sound card AND the speakers (I've replaced those speakers 4 times! 4 daumn times!!!) which actually forced me to spend more time troubleshooting, than enjoying my purchases.

Well, I'm buying an Echo Layla 3G. It's a pro-grade card dating from 2004, but they have serious support (they were the first to release WaveRT drivers for a flagship product that's 4 years old), something that creative lacks. Together with that a 5.1 set of studio monitors which will hopefully incorporate some power saving AND better than average electronics.

In any case, well, I guess I'm the 0.0000001% of your total sales (assuming you managed to sale around 100M of your products in total) who won't be coming back. It's quite sad though, because I was an SB user since I bought my very first Sound Blaster. Then I went for a SB Pro, SB16, SB AWE32 (that product was so awesome for its time), SB 128 (that's where the problems started especially with MIDI), SB Live (here's the best part about this one: I had a VIA chipset with NO problems at all! Isn't that amazing?), SB Audigy, SB Audigy 2 ZS and the Elite Pro now with its load of problems. I know, I know, you WILL make it on the 2nd generation of X-Fi, like you always did.

I take it as granted that you don't care, and I don't mind. But time will tell wether a group of 10 managers were right and thousands of people wrong, won't it?

And a final tip to the people that plan on staying with a Creative Labs card. Never trust the 1st generation of their products!

I went from a yamaha ds-xg which was great for 98se, then soundblaster live! 5.1.

I get by great on Vista with the 2002 driver.

I have no issues with via chipset...?

Re: Creative vs its Customers !

Obviously a business decision was made to force creative customers to purchase new cards for vista due to Creative's financial situation. It was a desperate move that was destined to fail.  I build/service computers in a medium size town in Alabama and I can guarantee you that I will never install another creative product. I have never boycotted a company before in 12 years, this is my first.

Creative cares ziltch about the customer.

Oh yeah, they forced us to buy new cards alright.  Too bad they are from competitors!
