UPDATE2:
To be honest, I'm a little suspicius about this e-mail, as it was not signed.
Whether it is real or not, I don't want to be legally threatened.
Lets wait for an official comment from Creative.

Subject: Stop the redistribution of Creative software
Hi Daniel,
Please stop the redistribution of any Creative software, otherwise we will take legal action against you.

UPDATE1:
I've received another cease and desist e-mail.
I'm done with Creative, enough is enough.
Don't even bother asking me for the files.
Unfortunately, the situation did not change for us.
They did say an updated Audigy driver would eventually be released, but don't be optimistic about it (their priority is the launch of X-Fi 2).
What I can say for sure is the features I've enabled will not be made available in an official driver update.
Although I still have my doubts, they've said I would not be threatened if I provided patches instead of the actual binaries, because of licensed technologies built into them (Dolby/DTS).
While this could even be true, most of the disabled features are Creative's own technologies, which means they've disabled them on their own choice.
That's funny when people think you are an idiot.
They were after me and, on a chat session, they asked me what I'd like from them, as if I were expecting something.
They've promised me a free X-Fi 2, but I told them it was not necessary, because I was getting a couple of cards from other companies that contacted me.
Well, at least they are getting flammed all over the web and they are certainly mad about it and I could feel it while chatting with them. That is an enough reward for my hard work.
I'm not releasing a patch to enable DDL on any X-Fi neither Crystalizer for Audigy because, as they've pointed out to me, providing an alternative for their customers is good for them and increase their sales, specially when someone is doing it for free. Given the current situation, I cannot let this happen, as people get used to this and still buy Creative products.
Remember, while they say that 3rd parties are ok to provide workarounds, it is Creative's job to provide official driver/software updates.
I just hope their competitor companies do something about it.
And I really hope people don't forget this.
Thank you very much for your support and your donations.
Best regards,
Daniel Kawakami

Thanks Daniel!
Your drivers are good, but I'll remember you for for exposing Creative's true motives with thier shoddy drivers. That'll live on long after you've gone and your drivers have become unneccessary.

Thanks Daniel,
I think we can safely say that many people wont forget what happened here. Creative have no doubt lost a great deal of custom.
Good luck Daniel in all your future endeavors.

Ive just been reading around the web about this whole debacle, i havnt been on these forums in a long time but i had to come back just to comment on this.
Ive never used your drivers Daniel and out of the whole wrong doing i can see is that you allowed Alchemy to work on other cards, other than that Creatives response and official press releases on this whole issue are absolutely disgraceful,to the point that unless they fix it somehow and fix their PR i will not be buying any more Creative products( I currently have a XFi XtremeMusic and Creative Zen but have owned other Creative products )
If creative want to disable hardware features in their drivers then its entirely their right to do so( as long as its not one of the products advertised technologies or specifications ), but i disagree with these tactics completely( and wont support any company who when exposed goes on the rampage like creative had ), as you said in one of your other messages its no different from enabling extra pipelines on gfx cards etc, ATI or NVidia never had a problem with this.
It really really is a shame that its come to this, Creative should have been supporting you, creative could have even had your drivers as 3rd party alternatives( they could have given you a license and thereby Dolby/DTS etc wouldnt have been an issue ) on their site and reviewed the features before allowing you to release them( at least then if there was an issue there could be some form of compromise )
This is causing quite a stir on the internet and wont help creatives share price, so again, you want to sort something out creative, nothing short of a public apology will begin to reverse your now abysmal PR and thats just to start. And trying to resolve this whole thing via a chat session screams unprofessionalism
Well enough of a rant, thanks again Daniel for your alternative drivers, support and work that you invested in them for the community. Great to hear other companies have contacted you and i wish you the very best with that, as im sure many of us will be moving brands on our next upgrade

X-Fi 2 or not I don't want anything to do with any of Creative's sound cards ever again. Not after they changed my X-Fi Elite Pro to a glorified paperweight (and a very bulky and ugly one at that).

They can **bleep** I will never buy another product of theirs ever again.
If anyone from another hardware company is reading this, learn from this companies downfall and don't take your customers for fools. We're not ignorant and won't tolerate being screwed over.
I doubt the higher ups at Creative are even monitoring this, most likely just the mods with orders to not speak.
We should start a video compitetion on youtube on who can destroy their creative card in the wildest fashion.

Thanks for all your effords.
Personally i wont buy any other creative product anymore in the future, no matter how good it would be.
They sticked their head in the sand about vista and till this time, they havent showed any support to their customers.
Their answers on this topic are so sad and pathetic, that I will advise anyone to stay off any creative product, because they cant be trusted.

i read about the X-fi 2 from MS' vista support page, it will have nothing to do with me/my family/my friends. X-fi xtreme music is the last product ever, until my last breath. (i will use the card until it doesn't supported by CL any more, which it is not far from todya, i learned from SB, SB audigy notebook, and now the x-fi)
thank you Daneil, even tho your drivers will not be used by me/my family/my friends, because i will not let them do it. i am a man of my word, banned creative, then let it be.
I am grad that you've been contacted by other companies, i do hope that in the furture i/my family/my friends will be able to use your drivers from a different company, please let us know if that is the case.
we will be looking forward on youtube or any online discussion forum, if you have any great news or suggestion rather which brand to go with, *not here*.
again, best regrads, thank you for taking your time to help the communities around the global.
