Re: Gone for good

daniel_k ,

fala ae! beleza?

Thiago

Re: Gone for good

Hey Daniel,

Googling the originating email (forums@customercare.creative.com), didn't yield any results other then some blogs referring to this thread.  I'd say if it were real, it at least would have been used multiple times already, or would have been made public on some other site, which isn't the case.

It makes little sense to me. Why would the forums ask you to stop providing the software by email, if I were an Admin/Moderator, I'd PM you/ban you altogether if you were in violation of the forum rules. But they don't seem to have done that...

As Creative isn't a small company, I also do think they have a legal team there, and most likely those people would be the ones contacting people about 'infringements' on their 'intellectual property'. It's those long words I'm missing in the email you posted, it looks way too plain and way too generic to be of any legal value. And I also believe they would use a more 'short' mail address, like legal@creative.com, or something alike.

If it turns out that this mail is fake, will you resume the software development ? Or is the decision final ?

I don't own any Creative products by the way, (well, except for a SoundBlaster AWE32), I'm just here to tell you there are many people who support an effort like this, and they don't like to see it going down.

Isn't there an abuse@creative.com to verify the originating mail-address, as well as it's IP (which both could be spoofed).

But the shat has hit the fin so it seems, I guess you'll hear it soon enough...

I wish you the best of luck, and thank you for your efforts, providing support where the producing company falls short!

Re: Gone for good

wheather its an official email or not, Creative previous actions shows that they dont care of their customers satisfaction.  i agree that business aim is to earn, but why should we support creative if there are others out there.   Starting 2day I will not purchased any Creative products,  All products from their mp3 players -> to anything under the sun that has creative brand in it.  I also have lots of people asking me to set up computers,  I will also not recommend to them creative products, sure it might be just a lost of $100 to them.  But if other people does the same thing that i would do, It would hurt them.

Im asking other Technical Specialist out there to help me on this cry.

Daniel_k you have a supporter here in the Philippines.. Good luck to you

Re: Gone for good

Hi guys,

Regarding the e-mail:

Referring to the post by Daniel K with an email concerning redistribution of Creative software:

the email appears to be a fabrication; it was not written or authorized by Creative.

Thank you

Re: Gone for good

Why do I get the feeling that someones out to get Daniel_K?

Let me explain.....I know someone who works at MS (I have no idea on his full role, but he works on Server) and he was aware of the friction between CL and Daniel_K etc.

The other day I was talking to him, and he had *heard* that Daniels drivers had destroyed someones PC.

I didn't press him for any more info, and simply explained that maybe it was the wrong driver for the card (have seen that myself on these forums)

I would have liked for Daniel to continue his good work, but it's obvious now that he must have a bitter taste in his mouth and that won't happen :smileysad:

Thanks Daniel and good luck with any future projects you work on....I have the feeling we are going to hear your name again, and that can only be a good thing.

Sound like he didn't spot the fake email by looking at message source and where it come from.

This very common with Ebay and Paypal and major high profile Financial Institution like banks and creditcard

Lean to watch out for thoses anonymous fake email from fake address

This is common thing now is that spammers are resorting to hijacking other people PCs by installing built-in SMTP spam zombies from web site, ads and so on.

The second email might have been fake, but let us not forget the first one wasn't.

I welcome the ALchemy "refund" and the Audigy beta driver.

It's a shame, because if the Audigy had of been supported from the start, none of this would have ever happened.

if thats case how about sending a real e-mail by creative to daniel to get him back saying its a fake ;>

personaly i think creative is doing great job so far.

aslong they do intend to bring out a fully functional driver fix all the major issues.

altough i hope fixing all the broken stuff this new beta brought for example.

wont mean the clean en better sound quality gets worse.

as far as sound quality its best. just that cms3d aint working.

and yet no popping issues either anymore ;>

so personaly i cant wait for another beta to see what its bringing.

tbh i was kindy hoping daniel K would mod a driver based on it.

Enough of this! Creative is the most laziest community on the Earth, bigger than Filefront (dont work stream for Czech peoples) !!!!

I found Daniel's drivers and they works like a charm !!!!!

Here are they http://www.vista4beginners.com/Windows-Vista-SP1-Drivers-Creative-sound-cards

After instaling, reboot your PC and then launch Creative Console Launcher and feel free to use

And for you Creative, **bleep** because you are unable to release working drivers for 1,5 year of existing Vista where you can use Subwoofer and other goodies!!!

And if you will modify my post or delete it, than you are a big hero !!!

And for this hungry community for those drivers welcome in the world of working drivers that the Daniel created!!!
