Reinstalling the Audio Console only

After some recent problems with my PC, I uninstalled the Audio Console without taking the drivers out too. Now I want to put it back in, but any attempt to run the setup program just gives me an error message (error code 6003) and fails.

When I attempt to run the main driver installer, it exits saying more recent drivers were detected (the WHQL'd ones from Win Update).

Any ideas on how I can get the Audio Console in?

Re: Reinstalling the Audio Console only

The setup folder may be missing engine32.cab -- try copying that file from somewhere else.

Anagrams are fun!   http://wordsmith.org/anagram/
Try "Creative Labs" or "Sound Blaster" or "Xtreme Fidelity".
Can you think of any more?

Re: Reinstalling the Audio Console

Ok, so i found the engine32.cab, and got the launcher for the console to work separately, but it still says that a newer version is installed, and then exists. so i still cannot access the console or the mdoe changer. any ideas on how to fix this?
