So now we cant respond.

Catherine. I find the closing of the threads so you cant respond unconstructive.

The updates that I was referring to that have not been answered are specific requests for what software will be ready for what hardware and the approximate timeline. The stock " when we have more information we will post it" is hardly the sort of appropriate communication I was referring to.

I appreciate that you and the other moderators have a hard job and I was suggesting a way that could help the frustration out there that causes the unacceptable language sometimes used.

If you need a specific request to respond to here it is.

I have a Audigy SE card (Vista Ultimate x86)and would like to know when fully functional drivers and software support will be available (even approximately)and when the card that I bought will function as it did and was advertised.

many thanks,

Re: So now we cant respond.

jaimez30,

I should clarify first that the forum is for user interaction, as the red announcement at the top of each board details, it is not a direct support route.

If you want to start a thread to ask about drivers or software that is fine, but I closed those threads as they clearly weren't constructive, if you have an issue with a thread being closed it's best to send me a PM instead of starting another thread about it (those will usually end up closed aswell).

As far as your query goes, I don't have any more news right now, the latest I have is in that thread, so "I'll post more news when I have it" is the truth, I'd love to give you more but I don't have it. The latest date estimate I have on official drivers is in the previously mentioned thread, and I will update that when more info is available (or start a new sticky thread, either way it should be pinned at the top there).

scrimps,

That is enough, you were warned before, you won't be warned again. Either behave or do not use this forum.

Re: So now we cant respond.

I have to whole heartily agree with scrimps, I have just spend $200 on this sound card which I bought from a company that is supposed to be the best in their field. While I understand the waiting process, it is frustrating to me to be faced with nothing to do but wait while final drivers are developed. The number one reason why I bout the Creative X-Fi series card that I own is because of superior audio quality it was said to provide. Now that I have used this card within Windows Vista, without the ability to use the included software especially in my case the equalizer, my audio sounds like nothing spectacular. In fact, my on board audio sounded considerably better than this $200 card does at this point.

So now I am back in Windows Xp so that I can get the proper use out of what I paid for and the question I seem to be asking myself now is "Just how much money do I want to lose?" Do I lose the $200 I spent on this card, or do I lose the $276 I spent on Vista Ultimate?

I have to say that I find myself very disappointed in Creative at this point. Not one person can seem to give me an answer as to when I will be able to gain full features and usage out of what I bought. I seem to get a different answer from each person I speak to.

So scrimps I understand and agree with every word you said

Re: So now we cant respond.

Sadly Creative don't know what support is unless of course you are referring to their elbows on their desks?

I sold my X-Fi a month or so ago and i haven't looked back, although i still drop in here now and then to hear the latest spin on why Creative are failing to deliver as usual, it's always amusing :smileywink:

What are you using now? Selling this card sounds pretty good to my ears right now, that is of course unless Creative actually do something to solve this issue

Re: So now we cant respond.

i could have sworn i read that the full drivers aren't expected to be out until March. But that doesnt stop them from updating the Beta drivers from the Dec 28th release. thats over 6 weeks of development time to at least UPDATE the beta drivers with something that may support at least a little better.

i still dont get how my x-fi worked with OLDER beta drivers under vista beta2 just fine but the newer beta drivers wont even run under vista RTM
