Re: SB Audigy series Vista Support Pack v2.15.0004, including drivers and applications (02/11/2008)

Hello again.....

Massive, massive thanks....I have not had a chance to put this to work yet, but this looks great!

One question before I scrap the current setup (which thanks to Daniel has been working magnificently for months)...

Is the Vista Service Pack 1 now available or is it still in Beta? If in Beta, I am making a big assumption here that it is pretty solid....I am just a bit gunshy of using anything in Beta, especially this with Vista having some rocky patches.....

Thanks again....

Thanks...

Thanks Daniel.

This is the way to go for the Audigy Series in Vista.

Re: Thanks...

I have a problem with these drivers:  CMSS ans Stereo Surround are not applied on music played from Windows Media Player.  On other content such as from Line In it is OK.  This problem is also present on the standard Audigy Vista drivers.  The older package, having 5.xx.xxx  drivers worked brilliantly.  Every driver that starts with 6.xx.xxx gives me this problem!

The final, RTM version of Vista SP1 is unofficially available, you can "find it" all over the web.

Decoding is only possible because Microsoft fixed the audio stack and/or made changes to it.

I can say Microsoft is the one to blame.

You are welcome.

A clean install of Vista 32-bit SP1 (integrated) worked just fine.

However, installing SP1 after a clean install of RTM, then installing the drivers does not work in Vista 64-bit.

If the driver loses the ability to syncronize the setting, you can just use Audio Center to enable and configure CMSS.

Speaker configuration should be set manually in the Sound properties.

Hi....

Daniel....thanks again for the reply....the version of SP1 that I found at the Microsoft site indicates that it has an expiration date....does the RTM version that you refer to that is found at other web sites also have an expiration date and must be replaced by the "official" release soon to come?

It was leaked last week and obviously does not expire.
